The G7 open chord

The G7 open chord is very similar to the C major open chord. The only difference is the strings on which the fingers are placed. In a C major open chord the first finger is placed on the first fret of the second string. For the G7 chord we place the first finger on the first fret of the first string. The second and third fingers are placed on the forth and fifth strings in a C major open chord. For the G7 chord we place the second and third fingers on the fifth and sixth strings but in the exact same frets.

TIPS:

  • Use the lower part of your finger tips on the second and third fingers to help give you clearance on the open fourth string.
